In 2004 I discovered WARMACHINE. I was that impressed I joined the Privateer Press demo team, called the ‘Press Gang’, to help my FLGS (Severn Games in Shrewsbury) promote the game. On a whim I decided to pop along to Fiasco in Leeds in October 2004. I thoroughly loved the experience and over the next two years attended about 20 shows to run participation games of WM/H.
After a couple of years at the shows running games I decided that, seeing there was a gap in the market at wargaming shows for a trader carrying the complete PP range, I took the opportunity and booked my first trade stand – which was Crusade in Penarth.
Since the that first show I branched out slightly and decided to be a one-stop shop at shows and online for the games I play. That was an important aspect to my operation -I only wanted to sell games I actually play or gaming products I used. Therefore I could offer gamers a superb service backed up by product knowledge. Over the years I stocked WARMACHINE, HORDES, Iron Kingdoms RPG, World of Warcraft Miniatures, Mantic Games’ Kings of War and Anima: Tactics.
An important aspect of attending the shows was to concurrently run demo games of WM/H. I was all about playing games!
Unfortunately in October 2010 I was offered and accepted a day job that is incompatible with going to the shows as Forge Games so I wound up operations and closed down after Colours.
However, I will be back! I hope to return to running demo games of WM/H at shows, mostly in the North.
